Listening on Country: Preserving Elders’ and Indigenous leaders’ stories was funded through the Department of Regional NSW, Regional Youth Radio Program.
The project enabled a partnership between the Central West Leadership Academy, school students from Wagga Wagga, Elders from Wagga Wagga and Dubbo and the School of Indigenous Australian Studies (Charles Sturt University) to create a youth-led podcasting series on local Elder histories and Indigenous leaders’ life stories.
The podcasting project was convened by Dr. Holly Randell-Moon and Dr. Nick Ruddell (Charles Sturt University) and the lead youth participant, Finn Randell (Central West Leadership Academy).
For this project, Finn Randell came first in the Individual category for Community Problem Solving in the national Future Problem solving finals. Finn then placed fourth in the international Future Problem solving finals held at the University of Massachusetts in the United States.
